Registration is now open for the BTN Big 10K - the race bringing Big Ten fans together. The 12^{th<\/sup> annual BTN Big 10K and 5K returns to Soldier Field on Saturday, July 15, with Big Ten mascots, cheerleaders, and the biggest post-race tailgate in the Midwest. Big Ten fans who cannot make it to Chicago can register for the virtual edition of this year's BTN Big 10K, which will take place from Saturday, July 15 to Saturday, July 22.<\/p>\n}

Registration starts at $55 for adults for the in-person 10K and $45 for the in-person 5K. For children 12 and under, registration starts at $25 for the in-person 5K. Virtual race registration is $30 for all runners. All participants, either in person or virtual, will receive a school-specific technical race shirt to represent their favorite Big Ten school as well as an official BTN Big 10K commemorative medal.<\/p>\n

In addition to cash prizes for the overall runners, awards will also be given to the top three finishers in each age group for the in-person races. The BTN Big10K will also offer school-spirit prizes to runners showcasing Big Ten pride through their race attire.<\/p>\n

The BTN Big 10K will be followed by a Big Ten-themed Tailgate Party, which will include photo opportunities with the Big Ten mascots and cheerleaders. The post-race festivities will include music, football-themed games, water slides and other activities. The Chicago-based Big Ten Alumni chapters will also be on hand to give away school-specific swag to their fans and alumni.<\/p>\n

This year's BTN Big 10K charity partners are Special Olympic Chicago<\/strong> and Students Run Chicago<\/strong>. The Special Olympics mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Chicago provides opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Students Run Chicago (SRC) promotes the growth and development of Chicago area high school students by providing equitable access to training, the running community, and mentorship needed to complete a half marathon and marathon. Entering its 10th year, SRC has supported 500+ runners through its six-month seasonal program and more than 200 students have successfully completed a marathon.<\/p>\n
